“Necessity is the mother of invention” – Plato.

Brandon lives in Mapleton, Utah with his wife Trisha and their 7 children. In January 1995, he started his plumbing career as a laborer. He quickly learned the trade while working for various plumbing contractors serving mainly Utah and Salt Lake Counties. After completing his apprenticeship requirements, he earned his Journeyman’s license, and then a few years later, his Master’s. During these years, he worked mainly in residential and light commercial new construction, remodels, and repairs. In 2002, he started Lakeview Plumbing Inc. Brandon quickly learned that if you work hard and treat your customers right, you will generally have plenty of work to pay the bills. Since starting his own business, Brandon has created a healthy customer base, providing all the work he and his employees can handle – year after year. Built solely on reputation, Lakeview Plumbing markets exclusively through word-of-mouth advertising. Brandon always felt that a business created and sustained on pure referrals, would be the most genuine and successful.

The need for something better

Efficient and successful – that brings us to the creation of the Lakeview Cartridge Puller. One thing Brandon always hated, was replacing cartridges on Moen single-handle valves. “The reason was that you never know just how long it might take, and under extreme circumstances, if it would be possible. Whether it was a Posi-temp tub & shower valve, a Moentrol, or especially an “older” standard valve – getting those old cartridges out was always a “trick” to say the least. Sometimes, they would come right out, if the building wasn’t too old, or if they had a working water softener. Otherwise, you could have a real challenge on your hands. This becomes especially evident when the customer required a hard-bid, and wasn’t willing to pay for ‘whatever it takes’.” Over the years, Brandon has used every trick in the book removing stubborn Moen cartridges. Sometimes, after everything failed, he had to break out the dead cartridges “piece by piece” costing in hours what could’ve taken minutes.

After a tough cartridge extraction, Brandon decided that there “needs to be some kind of tool that just sucks those cartridges right out!!” He went to work drafting ideas, contacting machine shops, and filing patent paperwork. The result is an easy-to-operate tool that allows its user to take out Moen cartridges without time or grief.

Helping plumbers everywhere

Since its creation, that first prototype lives in Brandon’s toolbox. It has extracted hundreds  of cartridges inside of  everything from Posi-temp, Moentrol, and the older “standard” non-balancing valves. It also pulls out cartridges in many different kitchen and lavatory faucets as well. What used to be the headache of repair calls now takes 3 seconds! The Lakeview Puller is used by plumbers throughout the Utah Valley with some customers buying enough tools to supply their company fleet. You don’t have to sacrifice hours to fight hard water and time. Let’s remove the mystery of cartridge replacement with the Lakeview Puller!
